I also looked into something similar for my own wedding. I only knew I really didn’t want to play “Bridal Chorus” (Here Comes the Bride), and I was tired of hearing Canon in D (pretty much every wedding I’ve attended had this song play, and I personally find it overused). We ended up playing (specifically the versions I listed below): * Beethoven – Ode to Joy (for processional) * Schubert – Ave Maria (for Bride's entrance) (processional/Bride entrance) There are so many versions of these songs out there, so be sure to look around to find something that suits your tastes! Hope this helps, and good luck :)

Could you provide more info about what kind of instruments will play (church organ, guitar, string quartet, brass band?), and what style of music you prefer (classical, contemporary, old standards)? Are you looking for something pre-recorded or is it to be played live? For church organ, try the wedding march from The Sound of Music, but have the organist leave out the part where it breaks into “How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria.” For guitar, try Paul Stookey's “Wedding Song (There Is Love).” It has lyrics, but can be played without singing. You can also ask your musicians what they’ve on hand or what they've used for other weddings. If you want pre-recorded music, just go to amazon.com, select “music” and type “wedding” into the search bar. They’ve hundreds of music CDs with instrumental music appropriate for weddings.
